DAR ȚIE DE CE ÎȚI ESTE DOR?

Festivalul ”Ia Mania” din acest an mi-a dăruit nu doar o groază de emoții frumoase, ci și câteva prietenii noi. Una dintre ele este cu Nicoleta Chirica, o fată frumoasă și deșteaptă din București, care a creat acum câțiva ani brandul de genți Iutta. Gențile Nicoletei se deosebesc de altele prin faptul că poartă pe ele semne românești. Ornamente tradiționale pe care le pescuiește de pe unde poate ea și le transmite mai departe. Gențile Nicoletei au și câte un nume. Eu am primit în dar o geantă pe nume Basarabia.

MACARONS WITH FOIS GRAS OR WHAT IS IT SOUK@SAT?

<ENG>Since I’ve landed in Montreal, I’ve started looking for events that I’d like and could enrich me. Some of them were too expensive to be visited, the others I discovered only after they were finished. Thankfully in Montreal there is always, always, something going on. And obviously, at one moment, I started feeling frustrated because i was missing something interesting everyday.

Some feel the Christmas coming thanks to the changes in radios’ playlists, some thanks to sales and house decorations. I felt it by the abundance of Christmas events all around in Montreal. Mostly fairs, exhibitions and markets dedicated to the looking-for-a Christmas -gift craziness.

This weekend I felt lucky to visit SOUK@SAT. Despite the surprise of not being aloud to get inside with my kids, i really enjoyed a short walk through the exposed artists. It was short because i was always thinking of my kids, waiting in the car, but it was so full of impressions. SOUK@SAT is already at its 10th edition and it gathers under the same roof contemporary artists who have the chance to show theirs visions but also to sell their products, BTW, not cheap at all. Its a nice occasion to feel the breath of local, Montreal art and to discover interesting local trends in design, fashion and even gastronomy.

TOYS. The vintage wooden cars were amazing. As well the milk teeth toys and felt colorful rabbits.

AUTUMN IN NEW YORK: CHARITY WITH ROMANIAN TALENTS

<ENG> A week ago, in New York, a group of beautiful, powerful and ambitious women organized a charity event. Probably it’s nothing extraordinary in organizing a fund raising in NY, if these women wouldn’t be from Romania and if the event would help a Hospice from Bucharest by organizing a concert with romanian artists.. For those who don’t know what exactly a Hospice means, i would say that nobody deserves to need their services. It’s a place where people, in terminal phase of their illness, get help, support and palliative care.

Mara Society is founded by 4 Romanians, living and working in NY. Their activity is dedicated to celebrating and supporting visionaries in the arts, and to specifically raising international awareness of Romanian cultural talent, in the fields of musical composition and performance, literature, painting, film and other artistic disciplines. MOSAICULTURES – FINAL COUNTDOWN

<RO>Vremea la Montreal e mirifică în acest început de octombrie. E cald, e soare, e vară indiană, la ea acasă, pe pământuri indiene. Turişti nu stau să numere banii, cheltuindu-i pe atracţii care mai de care. Cu aproape 1 mln de vizitatori care au plătit pe biletele de intare peste12 mil de dolari, de ce oare nu s-ar extinde pentru încă o săptămână expoziţia Mosaicultures de la Grădina Botanică din Montreal.
